Graphite electrode mainly petroleum coke, needle coke as raw material, coal asphalt binder, calcination, ingredients, kneading, molding, baking and graphitization, machining and made, which is released in electric arc furnace in the form of arc conductor of electricity to heat melting furnace charge, according to its quality index, can be divided into ordinary power graphite electrode, high power graphite electrode and ultra high power graphite electrode.
Used in arc steelmaking furnace
Electric furnace steelmaking is a large user of graphite electrode. The output of electric furnace steel in China accounts for about 18% of the output of crude steel, and the graphite electrode used in steelmaking accounts for 70% ~ 80% of the total consumption of graphite electrode. Electric furnace steelmaking is the use of graphite electrode into the furnace current, the use of high temperature heat source generated by the arc between the electrode and the charge to smelting.
